Guidelines for Authors
It may be some time before we are accepting new story submissions. If you
want to send one anyway, this page provides some advice and information.
Submit each story as a text file in an email to problems@pornopartners.com. Be sure to include the story title, author, and list of keywords describing contents together with the story. Here are some guidelines:
a. Minimum length. The story should be at least 10,000 characters in size. It is difficult to write a complete, interesting story with any kind of a plot that is under that size.
b. Story information. Provide a title, author's name (or state you want to be anonymous), and categorization of contents similar to what I provide for each story in the collection, such as "(Hetero incest)."
c. Suggested improvements. If we feel that a story needs to be improved, we will suggest improvements.
d. Complete stories. We strongly prefer complete stories to incomplete stories that a person may or may not ever get around to finishing. That is not to say that you cannot submit your story in parts. It is just that at each stage the story should be complete.
e. Editing. Be sure to edit your story before submitting it to White Shadow. Please refer to our Story Style Guide for advice on punctuation, dialogue, and other useful topics as you write your story. If you need more help or wish to learn more, you may consult the Guide to Grammar and Writing from Capital Community-Technical College. When you finish the story, refer to our Self-editing Techniques for the Writer. We will routinely edit any story submitted to correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar provided there are no more than a few, maybe 10, such errors. We will not change the content of any story -- please do not request that we delete or alter any paragraph of any story that offends you. We will not.
f. Formatting. Don't worry about it. We can handle just about any text file you provide. We can even handle various document formats.
g. Contents. There are some standards we insist on for all stories appearing in this collection. These four standards are set for the convenience of the readers:
1) All acts of animal sex will be consensual from an animal's perspective.
2) No animals will be sadistically killed or physically injured in a sadistic way.
3) No content that tends to degrade people based on race, religion, sex, or national origin.
4) No sexual participants under the age of 12.
Any stories involving torture or snuff will only appear in the General Story Room.
h. Feedback. If you want reader feedback, provide an email address at the end of your story in the story file.
i. Revisions. You may notice on the information line of a story in my collection "(Rev)," followed by some name. The abbreviation Rev means revised by. That is a story that was revised, rewritten, or completed by another author. Feel free to revise or finish incomplete stories originally written by others. Much Internet fiction one finds in newsgroup archives is rough or incomplete and will require some work before we will include it in our collection. If you would like to submit such work, we'd welcome it. Be sure to credit the original author if you know the name of the original author and show that you are taking credit for the revision.
j. Uncredited authors. If you see a story of yours in my collection that you wrote but have not received credit for, notify us and we will credit you as author.
k. Copyright problems. If you see a story of yours in our collection that you did not send us and you do not wish it to appear there, let us know and we will delete it with our humble apologies.
